Disc diffuser

Plate diffuser

Design type

Aeration system consisting of pipe, plate or disc diffuser and pipe system to distribute the pressure. The downspout or air line is connected directly to the pipe system.

Application

For fine bubble aeration of various fluids such as wastewater and sewage or sludge, for the purpose of supplying oxygen and mixing.

Equipment/function

A fan inputs air to the pipe system via the supply pipe. The pipe system evenly distributes the supplied air to individual diffusers. Air is evenly input to the fluid free from coalescence via a sewage-resistant membrane. A membrane consisting of microbe-resistant EPDM or silicone may be used for special media.

Description/construction

The aeration system is composed of one or more diffuser fields. A diffuser field forms the basic unit here and consists of several components:

  • Pipe system with connection for downspout or air pipe
  • Membrane diffuser
  • Fixation elements/holders, height-adjustable

Disc diffuser

The disc diffuser consists of a supporting plate featuring threaded connection, a plate membrane with hoist restriction and a fastening clip. Thanks to the spring-mounted hoist restriction the membrane expands evenly, thus guaranteeing ideal air intake. When the membrane is not loaded, the special design makes sure the air intake is sealed. This prevents fluid from penetrating the pipe system. As a result of the membrane’s excellent resilience, its perforation remains sealed when the membrane is not loaded.

As standard, disc diffusers are installed on the pipe system using a threaded nipple on the square pipe or a saddle clamp on the round pipe.

Plate diffuser

The plate diffuser consists of an arched support plate with overlying plate membrane. The plate membrane is attached to the support plate using a fixation frame. A link along the structure in the fixation frame serves as the hoist restriction. Thanks to the hoist restriction the membrane expands evenly, thus guaranteeing ideal air intake. Its special design reduces fluid penetration to the pipe system when the membrane is not loaded. As a result of the membrane’s excellent resilience, its perforation remains sealed when the membrane is not loaded.

Plate diffusers are installed on the pipe system in pairs using a tie rod and sealing washer. Square pipes are used for the pipe system.

Tube diffuser

The tube diffuser is composed of a floodable supporting tube with an overlying pipe membrane. The pipe membrane is fixed to the supporting pipe using two fixation clamps. As a result of the membrane’s good resilience, its perforation remains sealed when the membrane is not loaded. This reduces any fluid entering the pipe system.

Tube diffusers are installed on the pipe system in pairs using a tie rod. Square pipes are used for the pipe system.
