Submersible-motor pumps can be equipped with a cooling jacket pipe to achieve the flow velocity necessary for motor cooling.
This is recommended especially if:
- Sludge deposits could form on the motor (e.g., for application in a pump sump immediately above ground)
- Improved motor cooling is required because of unusual operating conditions
- No unperforated well casing is present in the well, and the pump must be installed in the filtration pipe network
- Sand appears in the well
- Installation takes place in rock springs without pipe networks
