Plad is a leader in the pump industry with the broadest range of pump selection, types and models, marketed primarily under the tradenames of PLAD, OMEGA and GPM. Our control panels are under the tradenames of VARIFLO, VARIPLUS and AQUAFLO-4.

Principal markets served by Plad include those of: agriculture, data center, commercial building services, golf course irrigation pumping systems, HVAC, industrial maintenance, and mining. Our products are sold worldwide through a wide network of independent, authorized distributors. PLAD is well represented in most major trading areas in North America. PLAD Products are manufactured in a wide variety of materials and configurations with energy-efficient design features.

Company Growth and Acquisitions Overview

1959 - Plad Equipment Ltd was founded in Montreal by James Proctor. The Companies orientation was sales and servicing for mining equipment.

1977 - James Proctor sold the company to Régeant Miron. The company sales were approximately $400,000. Orientation was refocused on pump sales only.

1978 - Plad Equipment acquired the exclusive distribution of Paco pumps, through the acquisition of Centriflow Ltd in Mississauga Ont.

1979 - Plad Equipment acquired the assets of Hewco Equipment in Montreal, a municipality oriented company.

1980 - Plad Equipment acquired the assets of Rexin Inc in Toronto.

1982 - Plad Equipment acquired the assets of E.F.T. Inc. in Montreal, a small manufacturer of Regenerative Turbine Pumps, trade name “Omega”.

1989 - Plad Equipment acquired the assets of Gomar Inc in Quebec City. They sold pumps, compressors and painting equipment in the industrial market.

1989 - Plad developed the VLOS series of in-line pumps-which was subsequently taken by Grundfos-Paco.

1991 - Plad Equipment acquired the assets of Pumps and Power Ltd in Vancouver. B.C. They also had an office in Edmonton and Alberta. Now Plad was truly a Canada company with offices East to West.

1997 - Plad Equipment integrated Varco Ltd into the Plad organization. Varco Ltd was acquired in 1995, a control panel manufacturer adding versatility to the Plad group.

2002 - Plad Equipment Integrated JRM Ltd into the Plad organization. JRM Ltd was acquired in 1990, a metal fabrication shop also completing the vertically integration of our manufacturing capabilities, allowing us to specialize in complete turnkey systems.
