Series description

Design

Pressure boosting system for fire fighting in accordance with EN 1717, EN 12056, DIN 14462 or EN 12845 for indirect connection.

With 1 to 12 vertical, multiple stainless steel high-pressure multistage centrifugal pumps in glanded version with or without break tank and with or without housing.

Application

For fire fighting supply to exterior hydrants and fire hose reels, especially for high-rise buildings and large estates - without the use of pressure reduction valves - as well as sprinklers and water spray systems

Equipment/function

  • On baseplate, hydraulically and electrically ready-mounted pump system
  • Stainless steel multistage centrifugal pumps of the Helix V series
  • Stainless steel pipework (DIN EN 12502-1-5; DIN 50930-6)
  • Pressurised water connection with structure-borne noise insulation in the Victaulic system
  • Pump control of the pressure boosting system, pressure-dependent
  • The separating station completely automatically implements all measuring, switching and monitoring tasks. Display of all message texts such as function parameters or error messages via an external operating display
  • Drain or emergency drain (EN12056) for entire volume flow
  • Installation under the backflow level is possible
  • No pressure reduction valves in the main flow of the fire extinguishing systems
  • Effective maintenance management and constant information on operation via smartphone, tablet or PC

  • Hygienic safety with optional free outlet (EN 1717)
  • Optional stainless steel run-down tank
  • Automatic function test of all measurement and adjustment equipment to redundancy level 3
  • Small installation surface - from 0.64 m2

Materials

  • Impellers, diffusors, stage housing made of stainless steel 1.4307
  • Pump housing of stainless steel 1.4301
  • Shaft of stainless steel 1.4057
  • 1.4404 shaft protection sleeve
  • O-Ring gaskets made of EPDM (FKM gasket on request)
  • Run-down tank in stainless steel
  • Pipework made of stainless steel

Construction

  • Baseplate: Hydraulic and electrical fully-assembled pump system, run-down tank, control, pneumatic valves with compressed air, structure-borne noise insulation, measuring instruments, emergency spillway
  • Pipework: Complete stainless steel pipework (DIN EN 12502-1-5 ; DIN 50930-6), suitable for the connection of all conventional piping materials; the pipework is dimensioned according to the overall hydraulic performance of the pressure boosting system
  • Pumps: Helix V series pump; all pump components in contact with fluid are made of stainless steel. For more information about the pump, please refer to the catalogue section "High-pressure multistage centrifugal pumps"
  • Monitoring connection: Control connection for function test of the pumps and actuators, especially for fire extinguishing systems, as no water is drawn off during most of the standby period
  • Stagnant water connection: Integrated stagnant water connection renews the water capacity in the drinking water single connection pipe based on the time and function parameters in accordance with DIN 1988, part 600
  • Pump control: Manual-Off-Auto switch, standard soft starter for single switching capacity over 4kW. Requirements-dependent activation and deactivation of the integrated pump, pressure-dependent control. For multi-pump systems in accordance with the speed control. Rotation connection for base load and peak load for achieving steady elapsed time figures.
  • Emergency operation pipe: Fuse protection of the pump minimum flow rate in accordance with DIN 14462
  • Safety valve connection: Drainage for expansion water in the event of a fire in accordance with DIN 14462.
  • Operating and error messages: Function check of the drinking water replenishment valve, function control steam pumps, overflow monitoring, dry running protection, optical operation and error message with clear text display
  • Building management systems: Potential-free contact for external fault signal
  • Run-down tank: Specially-developed run-down tanks made of stainless steel with free outlet in accordance with DIN EN 1717 for replenishment of high volume flows. Separator for reduction of gas input and reduction of the inflow speed integrated with run-down tank
  • Drinking water - replenishment Replenishment from public mains in accordance with DIN EN 1717 with free outlet type AB
  • Infiltration water supply: Infiltration water supply in industrial water pipe (e.g. via fire service) is permitted
  • Emergency drainage with overflow siphon: Upon cut in of the emergency spillway with integrated anti-syphon trap, drainage is performed in the underpressure system in accordance with DIN 12056, part 3
