FAQ - Frequently Asked Questions About Wilo-Select 6
What's new compared to the Wilo-Select 5?
The basic functions are identical. However, Wilo-Select 6 online offers an optimised user interface for simplified operation and faster hydraulics design. All detailed settings have been consolidated in the configuration area on the right. (Figs. 1, 2, and 3 show a comparison between Select 5 and Select 6)

Do I have to register?
No. You can carry out the pump dimensioning as a guest. However, registered users also benefit from project management, allowing them to save, reopen and manage their projects. As a rule, product prices are only displayed to registered users.
If you already have a WiloID registration, you can use it directly for Wilo-Select as well.
How do I back up, export, and import my projects?
To do this, open the burger menu using the “three-bar icon” on the far left of the header (Fig. 1).
As a guest user:
- After selecting a product, use the burger menu to export the project in various formats (e.g., PDF, GAEB, Datanorm, Excel, or CEF) (Fig. 2).
- Once you have made a selection, the Import function will also be available in the burger menu. This allows you to import and edit an existing CEF/CEFX project file. (Fig. 3)
As a registered user, you have full access to project management features.
- Save projects
- Search for projects in the database
- Open or delete projects
- Export projects (e.g., as PDF, GAEB, Datanorm, Excel)
- Import a CEF/CEFX project file

How does the LCC Check help me?
How do I change the language?
How do I change the units used?
Open the user settings menu (Fig. 1). To do this, click the units icon to the right of your username in the header bar. In the "Units" tab on the left, you can select the units you want to use from the drop-down menu. (Fig. 2.)
These settings are accessible at every selection step, so they can be flexibly adjusted at any time during the design process.
In addition, you can switch between different units directly while entering the duty point.

Can I select accessories at the same time?
How do I use the hydraulic pump quick selection feature?
The hydraulic pump quick-selection tool finds pumps without specifying an application.
Step 1: Specify a duty point by entering values for the volume flow [Q] and the delivery head [H] (Fig. 1).
The selection is made immediately, and a list of possible series is returned. The number of possible pumps is shown in parentheses.
Optionally, you can filter the series found by their main applications (Fig. 2).
Step 2: Select a few or the desired series and click the magnifying glass icon at the top (Fig. 3). Clicking the magnifying glass displays the results (Fig. 4).
If all or many different series are selected, a connection type must often be determined first (Fig. 5).
Fig. 1
Fig. 2
Fig. 3
Fig. 4
Fig. 5
How can I calculate and compare operating costs?
Operating costs are calculated automatically once a duty point has been defined.
We recommend using the hydraulic pump selection tool or the hydraulic quick selection tool (Fig. 1).
In this example, we'll use the hydraulic pump selection tool:
Step 1:
Select the application and the series, enter the duty point and start the dimensioning (Fig. 2)
Step 2: (Fig. 3)
Select the pump with the lowest price and the pump with the lowest annual operating costs.
Click on the header to sort the table accordingly.
By clicking on the "pin" icon on the far left of the table, you can mark pumps from the list.
The advantage here is that the selected pumps appear at the top of the subsequent dialog box.
Now click on the operating costs icon, which is located on the left side of the list.
Step 3: (Fig. 4)
Select the products at the top of the table.
The selected products will be included in the chart.
If two functions intersect, the payback period is displayed immediately.
On the right-hand side, you can add or correct your specifications, such as your electricity rate, annual operating time or the load profile for your application.
