Pressure-boosting systems for firefighting in accordance with EN 16925 as fully automatic single pump compact unit for firefighting purposes consisting of: 2 electrical vertical multistage pumps, one main pump and one jockey pump, one switchgear equipped with firefighting dedicated controller for pumps and alarms and fixed on robust supports. Solid base frame with anti-avibration dampers, one circuit with double pressure switch, manometer, non-return valve, valve for main pump automatic start. Available in two versions, with direct suction connections, or with a suction manifold.
Control + alarm control E/J switchgear for fire-extinguishing systems in accordance with EN 16925 requirements.
Switchgear integrated in steel sheeting housing IP54.

Inlet pressure:
The maximum intake pressure must be taken into account when planning the system configuration (see Technical data).
The maximum permissible intake pressure is calculated from the maximum operating pressure of the system minus the maximum pump delivery head at Q = 0. For sprinkler installation following EN16925, the water pressure shall not exceed 12 bar.
Booster installed under suction condition.
It's necessary to install a priming tank for each main pump, with connection on the discharge pipe above the pump.
Volume flow
Up to 45 m3/h (12,5 l/s) system configuration per main pump.
Switchgear/control device for fire water supply systems

Hardware:
Fully electronic central control unit and electro-mechanical components, built-in painted steel case, with protection class IP54, control and display and alarm devices on the front door.
Features and functions:
The controller design is suitable for the performance of each pump model. The device consists of several components:
Main switch: For switching the switchgear On/Off. (Unauthorised action in case of fire).
Display: Backlit graphic LCD display, built into the switch cabinet door for operating and display purposes. Displays the operating data and the receptive current operating statuses of pump and the controller. The menu selection as well as the parameter input are done by push buttons on the front door.
Microprocessor: Integrated PLC logic with thresholds, counters, alarms, status; 24 VAC auxiliary power supply; advanced I/O wired functions. The respective programming configuration is strictly dependent on system and sprinkler installation.
Indicators: Long-life indicator lights to show, power supply status, pump running, motor status, pressure switch on, automatic mode excluded, manual reset, alarm stop.
Buttons: Push button to manage manual start or manual stop, alarm reset and menu selection.
Fuse protection: Protection fuses, capable of carrying the start current for a period of no less than 20s.
Motor start: Direct start contactor.
Motor protection: Only for signaling.
Priming tank monitoring: By float switch to keep the water level at minimum 2/3 of the priming tank.
Power monitoring: Current, voltage, phases, cos phi and power of the pump.
Monitoring and controlling: Pump room temperature, working hours of the motor, pump status, pump statistics and starts, Jockey pump starts (if available), maintenance programme.
Fault message and acknowledgment: All alarm messages are displayed via LEDs or the graphic LCD. The LEDs color and alarm code must be acknowledged.

Function description:
With the Wilo E control devices, electric motor pump and sensors for pump management or information level can be controlled. The switch gear, which is managed by means of a microprocessor, is used to control and regulate all necessary functions of a pressure boosting systems for firefighting in accordance with EN 16925, for testing or real sprinkling situation.
The operational logic for the fire extinguishing unit is based on the cascade calibration of the pressure switches for pump starting.
When a large quantity of water is requested, due to the opening of one or more circuits or due to a broken sprinkler, pressure decreases in the system. This drives the main pump to start through the switchgear controller.
Once the sprinkler circuit or the gate valve that supply the sprinkler heads is closed, the system reaches the maintaining pressure of the installation; it will be necessary to press the –Stop– buttons on front door to stop the pump.
