On 19 August 2026, Jens Dallendoerfer, Regional CEO Wilo AMEA met with Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung to discuss Jakarta’s water and urban infrastructure priorities, as well as opportunities to advance more efficient, resilient and intelligent water management.
The meeting brought together representatives from the Provincial Government of DKI Jakarta and Jakarta’s water utilities, including Ika Agustin Ningrum, Head of the DKI Jakarta Water Resources Agency; Arief Nasrudin, President Director of the Jakarta Water Supply Company (PAM JAYA); Untung Suryadi, President Director of the Jakarta Wastewater Management Company (PAL JAYA); and Faisal, Head of the Third-Party Cooperation Division, Bureau of Regional Cooperation, DKI Jakarta Provincial Government. The Wilo Indonesia delegation included Rachmat Fauzie, Managing Director of Wilo Indonesia; Mohamad Gigih Gulanang, Head of Sales Water Management; and Bertha Rastika, Marketing Manager.
Governor Pramono Anung highlighted that Jakarta’s piped drinking-water service coverage has reached 82% today, serving approximately 8.9 million residents. Looking ahead, he expressed the ambition to achieve 100% piped drinking-water service coverage by 2029. This target reflects Jakarta’s continued commitment to expanding access to reliable water services and strengthening the city’s long-term water resilience.
Building on this ambition, the discussion also explored how digitalization, connectivity and AI can support the next generation of water infrastructure. For a city such as Jakarta, which continues to strengthen the use of data and digital technologies across its water and infrastructure systems, Wilo WATER AI strategy can support further opportunities to enhance system intelligence and operational efficiency by integrating AI into products and processes, enabling intelligent control, real-time monitoring and data-driven decision-making. By combining proven water technology with digital capabilities, operators can gain deeper insights into system performance, optimize energy and water consumption, and support more proactive and data-informed infrastructure management.
The meeting underlined the shared importance of innovation, sustainability and collaboration in addressing Jakarta’s water challenges and supporting the city’s ambition to provide reliable and resilient water services for its growing population.
“Jakarta is a dynamic and strategically important city, and its water infrastructure will play a decisive role in its future development. We believe that the combination of proven water technology, digitalization and artificial intelligence can help cities operate infrastructure more efficiently and sustainably,” said Jens Dallendoerfer, Regional CEO WILO AMEA.
