Croke Park – it is the major Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA ) stadium located in Dublin, hosting all the major sports events particularly Irish GAA football and hurling.
Product presentation in Dublin, Ireland
It's the largest sports stadium in Ireland and has been at the heart of Irish sporting life for over a hundred years. The Heating and Cold water systems include all Wilo Pumps with circa 20 booster sets in total in various locations around the stadium. All booster sets have been upgraded to Wilo High Efficiency Variable speed models as part of an overall investment in energy solutions in recent years as a 'green theme site' in line with the philosophy of the GAA.
On Friday, September 22nd, Derek Elton, Managing Director Wilo Ireland, and his team welcomed over 45 participants from Consulting Engineering practices to Croke Park, to launch our new smart pump – the Wilo-Stratos MAXO in Ireland.
During the welcome, Derek Elton gave an insight of the Wilo milestones since 1928, explaining the steps from the world's first circulation accelerator until today and also historically back to 1872 indicating 145 years of experience.
After this introduction, Ralph Huysers from Wilo SE, took over the product presentation, going into all technical details and features for the Building Services Design Engineers audience.
For a break in between the participants enjoyed a tour around the stadium and learned more about the history while they were getting behind the scenes of Croke Park and in the players changing rooms and playing pitch area whose irrigation system is ably assisted by a high efficiency WILO booster.
During the subsequent Q&A session, everyone had the opportunity to exchange directly with Ralph Huysers or to have a closer look at the Stratos MAXO model with the Wilo Ireland team.
The event ended with a fabulous three-course dinner including an exclusive raffle open to all guests. First prize: a signed Dublin team jersey by all the players of the three times Champions Dublin GAA football team – which the lucky winner happily accepted!
"Events like this help us to get to know our customers even better and to give them a more detailed knowledge about our products and innovations. An installer requires different knowledge to a Design Engineer for example. With customized events, we show our customers that we really care about their needs and interests. All in all it was a well-attended and successful evening with a good cross section of Consulting Engineers ( 'Planners') from all around the country, which we all really enjoyed", and we look forward to rolling out further presentations to Engineering Offices and Installers , says Derek Elton.
