The 2030 Agenda, with its 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), is a UN global plan to promote sustainable peace and prosperity and protect our planet. The Wilo Group supports these goals and promotes them in its sphere of influence.
Over seven days, selected Wilo subsidiaries from around the world were allowed to present their sustainability projects in an online session.
With the SDG Actions Days, the Wilo Group wants to lay the foundation for new ways of thinking and present solutions on the one hand, but also cultivate its partnership network and raise awareness for the challenges of an increasingly complex world on the other hand.
On September 26, WiloLATAM, represented by our host Svenja Ahlburg, Director Latin America Wilo Group & Managing Director Wilo Mexico, had the pleasure to invite you to the Wilo SDG Action Days and share with our audience our activities in the area of SDG number 6: Clean Water & Sanitation.
As keynote speaker, Catalina Deluchi, Director of Institutional Relations and Public Affairs from Agua Segura, presented a special project in Mendoza, Argentina, which counts with the financial support of the Wilo Group and guarantees access to drinking water for families in the region.
In a very insightful panel discussion, Juan Miguel Pinto, President of Latin American Association of Desalination and Water Reuse (ALADYR) , Rebecca B. Portela de Melo responsible for resource mobilization and Volunteering projects at Habitat Brazil and Loana von Gaevernitz Lima Deputy Managing Director of German-Brazilian Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Rio de Janeiro the challenges of drinking water and sanitation in Latin America and the role of each pillar of society to maintain and ensure access to water for all.
We thank everyone for their participation and presence at the event and reiterate the final message of our event:
"It is everyone's duty to care and preserve water!". We as WiloLATAM and together with our partners have already taken the first steps to do so."
