German-Brazilian Economic Meeting 2023

Belo Horizonte/Minas Gerais, Brazil. The 39th German-Brazilian Economic Meeting, held in Belo Horizonte, Brazil, brought together political and business representatives from both countries to discuss collaboration for a sustainable future. The conference was opened by Geraldo Alckmin, Vice-President of the Federative Republic of Brazil and Minister of Development, Industry, Trade and Services, Robert Habeck, Vice-Chancellor and Federal Minister for Economic Affairs and Climate Action and Cem Özdemir, Federal Minister of Food and Agriculture of the Federal Republic of Germany.

One of the conference highlights was the exclusive round table held with minister Habeck, where high-ranking representatives from politics and industry in Brazil and Germany came together under the leadership of the Federal Ministry of Economic Affairs and Climate Action (BMWK) and the German-Brazilian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (AHKs). As a guest, Svenja Ahlburg, Group Director Latin America & Vice President AHK Rio de Janeiro, had the opportunity to give an insight about the business challenges & opportunities in the water sanitation market in Brazil and to position Wilo as a solution provider for a safe and sustainable water infrastructure and H2 applications. Until 2033, Brazil wants to connect 99% of its population to the drinking water network and 90% to the wastewater system.
