Having hot water straight away when showering or turning on the tap is not only more convenient it also reduces water consumption and, as a result, protects the environment.

Wilo provides efficient circulators for safe and hygienic domestic hot water supply in detached and semi-detached houses that are easy to operate and, thanks to efficient control options, also save money compared to other solutions.

The convenience of hot water that pays off for you as a homeowner

Water is one of the most important raw materials worldwide, an essential resource subject to the highest quality standards. 70 percent of the water used for drinking water is obtained from ground water and spring water. Using drinking water sustainably is particularly important as consumption per head and per day continually increases.

This affects both water extraction, its transportation and preparation, but above all the technology for heating and distributing drinking water.

Avoid unnecessary and expensive drinking water losses

A lack of circulation or too long a pipe distance between the hot water tank and tap can mean that you only achieve a desired water temperature with a delay. In the meantime, several litres of drinking water end up unused in the drain. Not only is this unpleasant and inconvenient for your morning shower, for example, it leads to drinking water – as a valuable resource – being wasted unnecessarily and therefore results in higher costs.

If the water “stands” in the pipe, your health is at risk

However, the health aspect of water not circulating in your pipes is even more serious. Pathogens can quickly multiply in stagnant water. “Legionella” bacteria, which are inhaled via water vapour and can lead to severe respiratory diseases, are particularly dangerous. Wilo circulators are the ideal solution here. They increase your comfort level, help save costs and protect your family’s health.

Use perfectly hygienic solutions as an installer with our circulators

A circulator is recommended to reduce drinking water wastage and at the same time ensures the water is completely hygienic at all times. This prevents the formation of harmful pathogens if you select the right settings as an installer. It is therefore prescribed that the pump may only be switched off for a maximum of 8 hours over a 24-hour period. You can ensure this by controlling the heat generator or by means of a time switch with automatic on/off.

The recommended control temperature in small systems is 60 °C. In order to guarantee drinking water hygiene in the drinking water storage tank, the domestic hot water is also regularly heated further, i.e. thermal disinfection is carried out. Some of our circulators recognise this temperature increase and automatically switch to thermal disinfection operation in order to guarantee the hygiene in the entire pipeline network and not just in the storage tank itself.

You can count on Wilo’s quality for smooth operation

With our Wilo circulators, installers like you can satisfy the highest quality requirements when handling the essential resource of water. Our state-of-the-art pump systems ensure smooth operation, are particularly efficient and operate with extreme energy efficiency. The products on offer for you range from pumps that are controlled by the heat generator to self-controlled pumps with an integrated time switch and clearly arranged operating elements.

Professional consultation for correct drinking water installation

The water utility company guarantees the water supply quality up to the installation in your house. However, as a homeowner you bear responsibility for the water quality from the transfer point. In order to fulfil your responsibility and comply with the prescribed limit values, a carefully considered selection and installation of pipes and installed pumps is extremely important.

An installer will be the best person to tell you which pump is right for your needs. Wilo only works with qualified installers, who will advise you on our products and take care of the professional installation and maintenance.
