With zero liquid discharge and 100% water re-use becoming the core statement for the sustainability of the industry, manufacturing plants face the challenge to offer solutions for different types of wastewater from different industrial processes.

Designing and carrying out industrial wastewater disposal in an environmentally-friendly manner.

Whether it’s increasing solids content, longer residence times in the network or pumping aggressive and problematic fluids, the requirements for pumps and lifting units, wastewater treatment plants and systems for solids separation and pressure drainage are increasing all the time. Sewage pumping stations therefore need to transport sewage, sludge and sludge water, abrasive or fibrous fluids reliably and with energy efficiency in mind at different volume flows and delivery heads. At the same time, process reliability, energy efficiency, planning security and cost certainty need to be fulfilled in the long term. With Wilo, these challenges can be permanently solved.

Sewage pumping stations take on a key role for disposal companies when pumping sewage. They transport the sewage from buildings to the wastewater treatment plant via the sewer system. If it’s impossible or not economically viable to construct a new sewer system, pressure drainage systems can also provide a sustainable solution.

Reliable and energy-efficient pump solutions for sewage pumping stations and sewage networks are essential for reliable sewage transportation. Wilo offers sewage disposal companies, operators and consultants a wide portfolio, which ranges from high-efficiency, intelligent submersible sewage pumps and sewage pumps with an effective macerator to complete chamber systems and sewage lifting units with solids separation systems.

System solutions for pumps and lifting units as well as wastewater treatment plants

Increasing solids content in sewage, e.g. due to wet wipes as well as the overall lower volume flow resulting from water savings, for instance due to toilet flushes with a half-flush button, leads to unwanted deposits and favours the formation of hydrogen sulphide. For your pumping stations, this means that operation requires more maintenance and costs more. The pumps increasingly get clogged, malfunction and require a service call-out. In pressure drainage systems, the irregular volume flow leads to increased energy costs, unwanted pressure peaks and causes deposits or even clogging in the piping, which need to be removed at great expense to you.

Wilo ensures the reliable operation of your sewage pumping stations

In addition, when providing our system solutions which comprise state-of-the-art pumps and controls, we pay attention to your individual needs but also to cost-effective use and low-wearing operation.

For this, we use integrated control systems and the latest motor and communication technology in our state-of-the-art sewage pump systems in order to combine maximum operational reliability with the greatest possible efficiency. The use of a wide variety of impellers with the best hydraulic efficiency and high-efficiency motors reduces your energy costs even for classic pump systems, whilst ensuring maximum operational reliability.

We therefore always provide you with the right type of hydraulics for any application, from slightly contaminated wastewater to outgassing or fibrous fluids, in order to minimise your energy costs and the number of service call-outs required.

Our expertise for your solids separation

Would you like a reliable and financially attractive solution for the drainage of entire villages or large industrial or commercial complexes? Then Wilo’s solids separation systems are the answer. This provides you with a comprehensive solution, which is highly efficient, easy to maintain and incurs minimal operating costs.

By separating the solids, only pre-treated sewage passes through the pump hydraulics so that clogging can be avoided even in the case of high solids loads, and more efficient pumps can be used with maximum operational reliability. To minimise consulting effort, we also supply you with the complete, prefabricated sewage pumping station in the chamber as a retrofit solution.

Your solution for industry zone: Pressure drainage

Wherever there’s no existing sewer system and it’s either impossible or financially unviable to build one, pressure drainage using pipes with small diameters is recommended. For this purpose, we provide you with pressure drainage systems that operate smoothly and include comprehensive digital networking, control and monitoring. With our prefabricated complete systems and innovative control technology, you can carry out future-proof sewage disposal by means of pressure drainage even in rural and sparsely populated areas, while maintaining low investment and operating costs.

We provide you with comprehensive solutions for your wastewater collection and transportation, setting new benchmarks in technical performance, cost-efficiency, safety standards and long service life. In this way, you can transport sewage, sludge and sludge water as well as abrasive or fibrous fluids reliably and energy-efficiently at different flow rates and delivery heads.
