Through the targeted use of rainwater, the Wilo-RainSystem AF400 is a particularly sustainable system for saving fresh water. The factory pre-assembled system can be installed quickly. The EC switchgear and Green Button Technology allow it to be put into operation swiftly.
The system is equipped with a replenishment reservoir with a volume of 400 litres for continuous operation. It switches automatically to drinking water replenishment if the rainwater level is low.
Low energy consumption is ensured by the Wilo-Medana CH1-L integrated, non-self-priming centrifugal pump with IE2/IE3 motor technology in combination with the flow-optimised design of the replenishment reservoir.
The power supply in the low-voltage range, self-protection routines (such as dry-running protection) and corrosion-resistant components provide for a high degree of operational reliability and durability.
The system can be integrated in an existing building management system via a Modbus RTU interface. Extended communication via a gateway is optionally available.

Design
Automatic rainwater utilisation system with hybrid replenishment reservoir with 400-litre volume and 2 Medana CH1-L non-self-priming, horizontal, multistage centrifugal pumps. System installed on a vibration-insulated baseplate in a compact design including an 8-litre diaphragm expansion tank and fully electronic EC control unit (Easy Control) with control electronics and level control for up to two feeding pumps (rainwater storage tank pump).

- Module in compact construction that is ready for connection, electronics and hydraulics already hooked up
- Vibration-insulated baseplate with height-adjustable pedestal, made up of:
- Two non-self-priming, corrosion-free, low-noise centrifugal pumps from the Medana CH1-L series
- Large-volume hybrid tank (400 litres) with integrated filling level sensor (cable length: 1.5 m, measurement range: 0 to 1 m), all connections, non-turbulent supply lines, overflow with siphon and connection options for extension module (ordered separately)
- Throughflow diaphragm expansion tank conforming to DIN 4807 for energy savings if there are very small leaks in the building
- Fully electronic EC-Rain switchgear (Easy Control) in a metallic housing, protection class IP54. With control unit electronics including solenoid valve, pressure transmitter 4–20 mA:
- Two separate LED displays (1 EC(e) booster printed circuit board to control up to two feeding pumps (rainwater storage tank pumps), 1 EC-Rain printed circuit board to control the high-pressure multistage centrifugal pump of the Wilo-Medana CH1-L series) show operating data, controller parameters, operating statuses of the pumps, error messages and history memory
- Menu navigation with seven-segment display and visualisation

Construction
Rainwater utilisation system ready for connection in compact construction, with all electronics and hydraulics already hooked up and installed on vibration-insulated baseplate with height-adjustable pedestal.
Pipework: R 1 1/2 discharge manifold, including transmitter unit with 8 l diaphragm expansion tank following the volume-flow principle and shut-off device with draining, manometer 0 to 10 bar, and ball valve on the suction and discharge side.
High-volume replenishment reservoir in a hybrid design (holds both drinking water and rainwater) for needs-based replenishment with drinking water in the consumer network when rainwater storage tanks are not full.
Connection for backflow warning is available as standard.
