Wilo Reflects on a Successful Electra Mining Africa 2026
Electra Mining Africa 2026 once again proved why it is regarded as one of the continent's most influential industrial and mining exhibitions. Over five action-packed days, from 7 to 11 September at the Expo Centre in Nasrec, Johannesburg, the event brought together the people, technologies and conversations shaping the future of African industry.
With 41,390 visitors and more than 1,000 exhibitors, the exhibition provided an exceptional platform for collaboration, innovation and business development. For Wilo, it was an opportunity not only to showcase our latest pumping technologies and solutions, but also to engage directly with the customers, partners and industry professionals driving progress across the mining and industrial sectors.
Throughout the week, the Wilo stand welcomed a steady stream of visitors seeking innovative, reliable and energy-efficient solutions for some of the industry's most challenging applications. From mine dewatering and water management to industrial pumping systems and digital solutions, our team had the opportunity to discuss real-world challenges and demonstrate how Wilo continues to support customers in achieving greater operational efficiency, reliability and sustainability.
A standout feature of this year's exhibition was the introduction of dedicated daily themes, each focused on key topics influencing the future of industry. These themes stimulated valuable discussions and provided attendees with fresh perspectives on the opportunities and challenges facing the sector.
The week began with Future Skills & Career Day, highlighting the importance of developing the next generation of talent required to sustain growth within the mining, engineering and industrial sectors. This theme resonates strongly with Wilo's commitment to continuous learning and skills development through initiatives such as the Wilo AI Academy, which empowers employees to embrace emerging technologies and leverage artificial intelligence to enhance productivity, innovation and decision-making.
This was followed by Automation & Digital Day, where conversations centred on digital transformation, connected technologies and the increasing role of intelligent systems in improving productivity and operational performance.
Sustainability & Energy Day placed the spotlight on resource efficiency, energy optimisation and sustainable business practices, areas that closely align with Wilo's commitment to delivering energy-efficient pumping solutions that help customers reduce both costs and environmental impact.
Another notable theme was Women in Mining & Engineering Day, which highlighted the growing impact of women across the industry. The topic sparked valuable discussions throughout the exhibition and was well represented on the Wilo stand through the strong contribution of our female team members.
The exhibition concluded with South Africa Day, recognizing the country's vital role in driving industrial growth, mining excellence and economic development across the African continent.
Beyond the technology showcases and insightful discussions, Electra Mining Africa 2026 delivered where it matters most: creating meaningful business opportunities and strengthening industry relationships. The event enabled the Wilo team to connect with existing customers, identify new opportunities, generate qualified leads and gain valuable insight into the evolving needs of the market.
The strong interest shown in Wilo's pumping solutions reaffirmed the industry's growing focus on efficiency, reliability, digitalization and sustainability. These priorities continue to guide our innovation and support our mission of helping customers overcome complex challenges through intelligent and future-ready water management solutions.
As the doors closed on another successful Electra Mining Africa, we would like to extend our sincere thanks to everyone who visited the Wilo stand. The conversations, connections and opportunities created throughout the week made the event a resounding success for our team.
