Renewable Energy in Zambia

Wilo South Africa participates in the Renewable Energies Conference and Industry-led B2B meetings in Zambia.

Wilo South Africa was part of a two-day trade conference, and organized business-to-business meetings on renewable energies for distributed power supply for industries in Zambia under the theme “Decentralised Power & Self-Supply”.

The event was sponsored by the German Ministry for Energy and Climate Action (BMWK) and locally organized by the Southern African–German Chamber of Commerce and Industry (AHK), as well as the Renewables Academy (RENAC) AG. The objective of organizing the delegation therefore was to promote German technology and Know-How in the fields of Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency in export markets.

The delegation from Wilo was represented by Mr. Mayundo Chiyesu the Country Sales Manager Zambia and Tarine Strauss the Executive PA, Marketing Specialist and Events Coordination of South Africa, and they had the opportunity to meet with Dr. Anne Wagner-Mitchell the German Ambassador to Zambia and Ms. Cecilia Nsomfi the District Agricultural Coordinator of the Ministry of Agriculture in Zambia during the trade conference.

“Our focus during this delegation was to reiterate Wilo’s contribution toward sustainability, our commitment to the sustainable development goals (SDGs) by signing the UN Global Compact in 2018, and our energy-efficient and innovative pumps and system solutions,” says Matthew Magwede the Group Sales Director Middle & Southern Africa

Wilo has been fortunate to participate on several occasions of similar nature in different countries in the past. For this one Wilo participated together with eight small and medium-sized enterprises from Germany.

It was incredibly inspiring to meet with people and companies and align on similar targets around sustainable development and we are confident that during this delegation we demonstrated our commitment to our customers, everywhere!
