Wilo South Africa presents its latest array of smart and sustainable water solutions

Wilo exhibits at IFAT Africa 2025

Wilo South Africa took great pride in its participation at IFAT Africa 2025, the Trade Fair dedicated to Water, Sewage, Refuse, and Recycling, which was held from July 8 to 10, 2025, at the Gallagher Convention Centre in Midrand, Johannesburg.

As the foremost environmental trade fair in Africa, IFAT Africa serves as a vital business and networking platform for both South African and international professionals within the environmental sector.

During this year's exhibition, Wilo South Africa presented its latest array of smart and sustainable water solutions, featuring some of Wilo's most significant innovations, such as the Rexa Solid-Q, a smart submersible sewage pump integrated with Nexos Intelligence, a highly efficient vertical turbine pump suitable for water supply and flood control; and the Split Case Pump, engineered for high-capacity water transfer and infrastructure applications.

Among the key highlights of the event was a notable and impactful visit from the leaders who officially inaugurated the IFAT Africa exhibition. Wilo delivered an introduction that emphasized our sustainability strategy, which is founded on three essential pillars: Creating, Caring, and Connecting, followed by a brief overview of some of our key energy-efficient products.

Another significant highlight on Day 1 of IFAT Africa was the influential visit from Ms. Simone Pohl, CEO of the Southern African German Chamber of Commerce (AHK). We engaged in a meaningful discussion about Wilo, our primary focus areas, and the impact of Wilo in Africa.

Day two proved to be another noteworthy occasion, with a multitude of visitors arriving at the Wilo booth to discover our energy-efficient products, system solutions, and sustainability strategy. Additionally, Day 2 saw the gathering of the Wilo South Africa Management team, which comprised Mr. Matthew Magwede, Mr. Clemens Pretorius, Mr. Varun Rajasingh, and Mrs. Sophie Nokias, who convened with AHK’s Ms. Nikitta Vogl to discuss potential future collaborations.

Another remarkable aspect of day two was Mr. Clemens Pretorius's role as a panellist in a discussion focused on some of Africa's most urgent challenges, highlighting the necessity of climate-smart strategies to ensure the sustainability of the continent's water and sanitation systems. This session, titled "Building Resilience: Climate-Smart Water and Sanitation Infrastructure," was sponsored by Frost and Sullivan and moderated by Mr. Hendrik Malan, Partner & Africa CEO at Frost & Sullivan.

On the third and final day of IFAT Africa 2025, Wilo representative Clemens Pretorius once again took the stage to provide expert commentary, sharing industry insights and contributing to the ensuing dialogue following the DAAD Alumni presentation. The session, organized by the German Water Partnership and titled: Future-Proofing Water and Agriculture: Alumni Perspectives and Industry Reflections, provided valuable insights into the requirements for developing and sustaining the water and agricultural sectors in African nations.

In conclusion, Mr. Matthew Magwede graciously welcomed and presented Wilo's cutting-edge technologies and innovations to the German delegation, which was once again led by the German Water Partnership.

We express our heartfelt appreciation to everyone who visited our booth and dedicated their time to interact with us. Special thanks are warranted for the Southern African German Chambers of Commerce and Industry, the German Water Partnership and the Frost and Sullivan Group.
