Job Description: Engineering Intern/Co-op

Summary
We are seeking two full-time Engineering Interns/Co-op students, preferably in Mechanical Engineering, to join our team. The interns will gain hands-on experience in the development and design of pump components and systems, utilizing 3D CAD modeling, Finite Element Analysis (FEA), and creating engineering drawings to support both the Production and Sales departments. This role offers valuable, real-world industry experience, preparing students for a successful transition post-graduation. Interns will be tasked with completing assignments in a timely manner, ensuring high-quality results and maximum customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

  • Develop 3D models for products ranging from single components to complete assemblies.
  • Create detailed engineering drawings based on models, including casting, machining, and general arrangement submittals.
  • Conduct FEA and perform calculations to validate design integrity.
  • Learn and apply the engineering department's documentation processes to handle drawing requests from start to finish.
  • Gain insights into the pump industry, best practices, and product offerings at American-Marsh Pumps.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Currently enrolled in an accredited Mechanical, Engineering Technology, or related program.
  • Junior or Senior level students preferred.
  • Fundamental skills in AutoCAD and proficiency in Autodesk Inventor Professional, SolidWorks, or other 3D modeling software.
  • Proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Excellent creative thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Ability to simplify complex tasks.
  • Strong organizational skills, capable of managing multiple assignments and meeting deadlines.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure, both independently and as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of machining and fabrication processes.
  • Solid understanding of engineering fundamentals.

Additional Details

  • Full-time position for the duration of 1, 2, or even 3 semesters.
  • Students will graduate with legitimate, valuable industry experience.
