A centrifugal pump is a type of pump in which the fluid enters axially through the impeller.
Pumps are necessary in order to move fluids and to overcome arising flow resistances in the pipe system. In addition, geodesic heads must be overcome in the case of pump installations with different liquid levels.
According to the method of their construction and the method of how they convert energy, centrifugal pumps are hydraulic flow machines. Although there are many ways of construction, all centrifugal pumps have in common that the fluid enters an impeller axially.
