Wind power
Wind is a clean, free and abundant source of energy that is used to generate electricity, with wind turbines harnessing the kinetic energy created by air currents to power a generator providing an electric current.
Several wind turbines are usually configured into wind farms that can cover several square kilometres of land or sea to harness the wind both on land and at sea.
WIND POWER
- Cooling the generator and other components of the turbine is crucial to prevent overheating and premature wear.
- In general, the pumps are located in the wind turbine's nacelle, i.e. the casing at the top of the tower that contains the turbine's mechanical and electrical components.
- They circulate a mixture of glycol and water through the turbine’s components to remove the heat generated during the turbine's operation
