Wilo is one of “50 Sustainability and Climate Leaders” worldwide. This global initiative highlights international corporations who are supporting a green and sustainable future. Climate change is the defining issue of our time. Enormous economic and societal benefits await humankind if we can rise to the climate challenge. With the goal of providing one hundred million people with access to drinking water by 2025, Wilo is strongly committed to sustainability: Our pumps help to supply people around the world with water in a smart, efficient and climate-friendly way. All “50 Sustainability and Climate Leaders” take effective action in combating climate change and thereby contribute to the Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations.

German Sustainability Award 2021

Every year, the German Sustainability Award honors pioneering contributions toward transforming our world to secure a more sustainable future. The prize aims to promote networking across borders and encourage partnerships as well as motivate all key players to bring about change. It honors best practice examples of how ecological and social progress can be achieved more quickly.

Wilo has been awarded the renowned German Sustainability Award (Deutscher Nachhaltigkeitspreis, DNP) in the “Climate” transformation field,

as sustainability is an integral part of Wilo´s corporate strategy. By replacing outdated technology alone, Wilo high-efficiency pumps could save up to 246 terawatt hours of electricity – the equivalent output of 80 coal power plants.

Ecovadis Silver Rating 2021

For the third time in a row, the independent rating agency EcoVadis has certified Wilo's sustainability management. After a silver rating in 2019 and 2020, Wilo received the gold rating in 2021. EcoVadis uses a scorecard system to evaluate various indicators such as sustainable objectives, implemented activities, certifications or controlling measures. Depending on the industry, company size or geographical location, the rating takes into account 21 criteria along the entire value chain - from purchasing to production to human resources management. The rating agency gave Wilo's sustainability strategy and its commitment to energy efficiency and social responsibility a particularly positive rating.

The German Design Council has awarded the German Design Award 2022 Special for outstanding design performance to the Wilo signage in the category "Excellent Architecture". The Wilo pictograms were honoured in the category "Excellent Communications Design".

Top Innovator 2019

The TOP 100 seal honors the most innovative companies in the German SME sector. More than any other award, this seal of approval has embodied the innovative strength of small and medium-sized enterprises and thus is one of the most important awards in this sector. Wilo has established itself as an innovation leader in the pump industry since its foundation. New technologies and innovative solutions are an essential part of the company's history. Wilo receives the prestigious Top 100 seal in the category "Innovative Processes and Organization" for the second time after 2019.

PLUS X Award

Plus X Award 2020

With more than 700 participating international brands, the Plus X Award is the world's largest innovation prize for technology, sports and lifestyle. Products that have at least one "Plus X" factor are awarded a Plus X Award seal of approval. Newly developed and innovative technologies, exceptional designs, and intelligent and simple operating concepts are honored. Wilo has been awarded the Plus X Award 2020 for its glandless circulator pump Wilo-Stratos PICO plus. The deciding factors were the high quality, ease of use and functionality of the highly efficient heating pump.

The German Innovation Award recognizes products and solutions that stand out above all for their user orientation and added value compared to previous solutions. Innovations are created through internal expertise and the interaction of people and technologies. Since 1872, Wilo has been supplying people around the globe with innovative pumps and smart high-tech system solutions. This is also reflected in the Wilo-Stratos MAXO. The innovative power of the Wilo-Stratos MAXO was recognized with the German Innovation Award in 2018.

If Design Award 2021


The iF Design Award is the oldest independent design seal in the world. It is a symbol of design excellence that focuses on design innovation. Wilo won the iF Design Award for the eleventh time, the first time in 1964. The Wilo-Rexa MINI3 has now been awarded the renowned iF Design Award. In its statement, the jury praised not only the good and functional design of technology specialist Wilo’s submersible motor pump, but also its technical advantages, especially in times of increasing water shortage.

The iF Design Award is the oldest independent design seal in the world. It is a symbol of design excellence that focuses on design innovation. Wilo won the iF Design Award for the eighth time, the first time in 1988. The Wilo-Stratos MAXO for commercial HVAC applications defines a new level of energy efficiency through optimized and innovative energy-saving features and through its outstanding usability. It is the first pump with an intuitive user interface and application-specific presets. Its crossover connectivity enables integration into all relevant systems.

Design Plus Award 2017

The international Design Plus Award is one of the leading design competitions and honors outstanding product achievements every year at trade fairs such as the ISH. It distinguishes products that combine design and technology. The Wilo-Stratos MAXO was awarded the "Design Plus" seal of approval, as it not only sets new standards in terms of connectivity, efficiency and flexibility - the design of the high-efficiency pump is also impressive. The Stratos MAXO combines form and function in an ideal way, while at the same time it also is particularly easy to operate and install.

Every year, the Red Dot Design Award honors outstanding product designs that combine aesthetics and functionality. The prize is awarded to the best products in over 50 categories every year. This year, the "Wilo-COR-Helix EXCEL" prevailed against 4,433 products from more than 60 countries. The particularly energy-saving high-efficiency booster set "Wilo-COR-Helix EXCEL" for drinking water supply, fire extinguishing and industrial applications received the coveted quality seal "Red Dot Award: Product Design" in the category Industry and Trade. Here, the COR-Helix EXCEL impresses not only with its innovative design, but also with its contribution to operational safety and reliability.

German Brand Award 2021 Winner


For the sixth year running, Wilo has received the renowned German Brand Award – and this time, it’s done it twice. The company won the “Brand Communication - Storytelling and Content Marketing” category for the 2019 Annual Report and “Excellence in Brand Strategy and Creation” for the innovative Wilo work clothing created with Puma Workwear.

With the German Brand Award, the German Brand Institute and Design Council present a unique distinction for outstanding brand management. The Institute was established to strengthen the importance of brand management as crucial success factor of companies in a national and international competitive environment. Wilo won the prestigious accolade for the fourth time in a row. The 2017 Annual Report convinced the jury in the "Corporate Publishing" category. The annual report is a central component in Wilo's external presentation to all stakeholders, with which Wilo positions itself as a responsible part of society. Both the content concept and the design implementation were honored.

The German Brand Award is the brand and marketing award with the highest reach in German-speaking countries. It aims to strengthen brand management as a decisive factor in the success of companies. With the "Digital Customer Interface" project, the virtual customer interface, and the "Employer Branding" project, which is aimed at young target groups, Wilo was honored twice with the German Brand Award. The jury of experts chose Wilo as the winner in two categories: "Industry Excellence in Branding" and "Brand Strategy, Management and Creation".
