AI chatbot WiloGPT: Digital pioneering spirit meets artificial intelligence

Use of Wilo GPT on Desktop, Wilo's very own Artificial Intelligence application

Multinational technology group Wilo rolls out own AI application

Dortmund. The Wilo Group has launched WiloGPT, an in-house AI chatbot for its employees. The tool offers the same functionality as ChatGPT. As part of the Wilo IT infrastructure, it is particularly secure with respect to data protection. Around 200 employees are currently putting the new chatbot to the test. It will soon be available to the entire workforce of the multinational technology group for their everyday work.

“Artificial intelligence is a reflection of the digital transformation of our world. We are convinced that AI offers numerous opportunities because it will help to solve the challenges associated with global megatrends,” explains Oliver Hermes, President & CEO of the Wilo Group. “Wilo is leading the way as a digital pioneer in the industry. The launch of WiloGPT proves that once again.”

“I am pleased that with WiloGPT we have created an application that adds tangible value to the everyday work of our colleagues and at the same time meets our high IT security and data protection requirements,” adds Mathias Weyers, who is also responsible for Group Information Management as Member of the Executive Board and Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of the Wilo Group. This department is implementing the project together with the Wilo AI Competence Centre.

The usage statistics of the test phase show how great the interest of Wilo employees in the chatbot is: The approximately 200 test users are consulting the artificial intelligence up to 600 times per day. After the successful completion of the test phase, Wilo is gradually rolling out the application across its entire production and sales network.

In addition, the technology group plans to develop the chatbot further with the help of Wilo-specific data. The AI is to be trained with product data accordingly. “This then results in new use cases, for example in production or in service”, Weyers continues. “The ongoing development of WiloGPT is therefore consistently aligned with Wilo’s holistic digitalisation strategy,” says Hermes.
