Germany and Kazakhstan: Expanding economic cooperation

Following his appointment by the Kazakh President as Special Envoy for Economic Relations with Germany, S.E. Mr. Roman Sklyar, Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan, embarked on a trip to Dortmund with a delegation. The occasion was a joint event organized by the Kazakh Embassy, the Eastern Committee - Eastern European Association of German Business, and the Wilo Group, with the support of the IHK Dortmund. During the event, an exchange took place involving over 30 senior representatives of German companies, focusing on expanding economic cooperation between Germany and Kazakhstan.

"The fact that we are meeting here today is one of the outcomes of our meetings with Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev in Berlin in early December," said the host, Oliver Hermes, Chairman of the Management Board & CEO of the Wilo Group and Chairman of the Eastern Committee. "Therefore, our meeting today is the first step towards implementing further joint cooperation."

The Wilo Group has been operating in Kazakhstan for 20 years and invested in a platform concept for activities in Central Asia in 2018. "We are proud to be the first company in the Republic of Kazakhstan to receive the gold certification from the international certification system for green building (LEED). With our platform, we can serve all markets in neighboring countries such as Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan," explained Jens Dallendörfer, Senior Vice President Sales Region Emerging Markets. To conclude the program, participants experienced the consistent implementation of the digital transformation of the Wilo Group through a guided tour of the new smart factory.
