WILO SE nominated for the CSR Award of the German Federal Government
Among the top 5 companies in the category of over 1,000 employees
Only a few companies have managed to be nominated for the Corporate Social Responsibility Award of the German Federal Government 2020, known as the CSR Award. Alongside companies like BASF SE, REWE Group, and SAP SE, WILO SE has been named among the top 5 in the largest category of over 1,000 employees. This is a great success for the traditional technology conglomerate from Dortmund.
The CSR Award of the Federal Government is a recognition for companies of all sizes that consistently design their business activities to be socially, environmentally, and economically sustainable or have made significant progress in that direction. The goal is to honor, promote, and actively support responsible corporate behavior.
"As the WILO Group, we have climate protection in our DNA. We create sustainable value because our actions are focused on the long term," says Oliver Hermes, CEO and Chairman of the Board of WILO Group. Responsible behavior is deeply rooted in the corporate culture of the Dortmund technology conglomerate. "Based on our Ambition 2025, we have developed an explicit sustainability strategy. The core of this strategy is to provide more people with clean water while reducing our ecological footprint," says Oliver Hermes. The United Nations' environmental report assumes that by 2025, approximately 1.8 billion people will be living in regions with significant water scarcity: "By 2025, we will ensure that about 100 million people have better access to clean water through our innovative and smart products, systems, solutions, and services," adds Oliver Hermes. Energy and resource efficiency are indispensable for achieving this.
Working with the precious resources of water and energy inherently requires sustainable thinking and action. WILO Group is committed to sustainable practices and contributes to a positive overall development.
