First company in the pump industry with virtual exhibition stand online
Despite the cancellation of the world's leading trade fair IFAT in Munich due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the Dortmund technology specialist Wilo is seeking close dialogue with customers and partners. As the first company in the industry, the manufacturer of pump and pump system solutions has put a virtual trade fair stand for IFAT 2020 online, presenting this year’s innovations and highlight products and thus inviting to a dialogue based on partnership.
"Of course, it would have been our absolute preference to be on site in Munich at the beginning of May and met our customers and partners personally," says Georg Weber, Chief Technology Officer of the Wilo Group. "But with moving to the digital space, we have created an innovative alternative and are nevertheless able to present our products, systems and solutions". When setting up the digital exhibition stand, high priority was given to interactivity and customer dialogue. The Dortmund Company is focusing on the topic of sustainability when presenting its innovative products and smart system solutions. Under the motto "Green Solutions for a better Climate" the spotlight is on products, solutions and services that help to decelerate climate change: "The battle for the climate is decided in the cities. For this, IFAT is a relevant platform for water management, for Wilo now also as a virtual one", says Georg Weber.
Contributions for climate-friendly water management
With the help of presentations, animations and reference videos, among other things, Wilo is once again positioning itself as an innovation leader and digital pioneer in the industry. "The smartification of products and solutions as well as their contribution within the framework of CO2-saving and climate-friendly water management form the core of the virtual exhibition stand", explains Thomas Lang, Head of Group Market Segment Management. The exhibited portfolio ranges from the smart sewage pumping station Wilo-Rexa SOLID Q with Nexos intelligence, the "Best in Class" highly efficient borehole pump series Wilo-Actun ZETOS to the new splitcasepump Wilo-Atmos TERA-SCH, which combines high volume flows and maximum energy efficiency.
Pre and after sales offer with digital features
Today, an overall portfolio includes not least a service offer tailored to the customer. "Our Pre- and After-Sales offer addresses the most important new topics at Wilo", says Markus Neppl, Wilo Sales Manager Water Management. "On the one hand this is our Building Information Modelling offer and on the other hand our new digital Wilo-Live Assistant". With the latter, it is possible to contact Wilo's local service organisations directly via mobile devices. "The technical Wilo customer service can then see the picture of the mobile phone camera on the computer", explains Markus Neppl. "Via the Smart Phone we can then bascially ‘control’ the customer, e.g. which details we have to see more precisely or from which angle we have to inspect a component".
See you again at IFAT 2022
"With all the added value that a virtual trade fair stand offers, personal contact with customers and partners is not only more important to us, but just as important", explains Georg Weber. "A virtual trade fair stand is not intended to replace direct exchange and dialogue. We will nevertheless maintain this in the current situation, that's what we want and that's certainly what our customers and partners want too!” Until IFAT in two years time, he said, we have to do to the best we can, but at the same time the anticipation for the coming IFAT is already enormous: "We will all see each other again in Munich in 2022.
