Electricity plays a fundamental role in the development of the sub-Saharan Africa region: water treatment, cooling chains, electricity, internet - and all of it seamlessly and securely. The social enterprise Africa GreenTec is now taking a big step in this direction by introducing so-called ImpactSites. They are holistic concepts aimed at improving people's productivity and living conditions through sustainable, solar energy-based power generation. The project is supported technologically and financially by the company Wilo and the Wilo Foundation.

FINANCIAL YEAR 2020: FREE CASH FLOW HAS MORE THAN TREBLED

In the financial year 2020, the Wilo Group has managed to achieve a currency-adjusted sales growth of 1.8 percent despite the difficult conditions caused by the pandemic and the economy. Sales revenues amounted to approx. 1.5 billion euros.

The Wilo Group is celebrating three sustainable milestones this week: The successful completion of the TüV certification as a “climate-neutral company in Dortmund”, the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Gold certification award from the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) and the Gold certification of the German Sustainable Building Council (DGNB), both for the "Pioneer Cube" administration office building.

On 4 February 2021, the Wilo Group invited to celebrate the opening of its new headquarters in Dortmund, the Wilopark. Over 1,500 high-ranking international guests from the world of business and politics as well as Wilo employees took part in the digital (due to coronavirus pandemic) event.

2019: All-time high for EBITDA, cash flow more than doubled

WILO USA LLC, a subsidiary of WILO SE, through its newly-established subsidiary, American-Marsh Pumps LLC., has acquired the assets of US manufacturer J-Line Pump Co. d/b/a American-Marsh Pumps. Headquartered in Collierville, Tennessee, American-Marsh Pumps currently employs 55 people.

Leadership change at the top of the largest regional initiative of the German economy

Stuttgart. Oliver Hermes (48) is taking on leadership of the German Eastern Business Association (OAOEV) with immediate effect. The CEO of the Dortmund-based Wilo Group was unanimously voted into the association’s Executive Board in Stuttgart, Germany on 23 September. Following this, he was immediately named Wolfgang Büchele’s successor by the OAOEV steering committee.

Ceremonial key handover for the Smart Factory at the WiloPark Dortmund

Dortmund. The key to the Smart Factory of the Wilo Group, Dortmund-based manufacturer of pumps and pump system solutions, was symbolically handed over on August 8th 2019 during the opening ceremony. After a construction period of 36 months, the move to the ultra-modern production facility has now begun, and the new, digitalized factory will start operations in October.

The turnover for 2018 exceeded that of the previous year for the ninth time in a row, and showed a strong 6.2 % increase to €1.46 billion after currency adjustment. “In the face of all geopolitical challenges, we have managed to remain on a growth course through consistent implementation of our digital transformation, the expansion of our multilateral partnerships and networks, and an intensified globalisation strategy”, explained Oliver Hermes, CEO of WILO SE. In particular, Wilo recorded excellent growth in Korea, India, and the Near and Middle East, as well as in Eastern Europe – especially Poland. “We are strategically set up for the long-term and are well-positioned in economic terms, giving us plenty of reasons to have an optimistic view of the future”, concluded Mr Hermes. The operating profit (EBIT) of €91.9 million remained below that of the previous year due to investment in the digital transformation, strongly-increased raw material prices, and costs related to future-proofing reorganisation measures.
