Dortmund/Munich. From 30 May to 3 June 2016, pump manufacturer Wilo from Dortmund will attend IFAT, the world's leading show for water and sewage management, thereby reaching beyond the world of pumps - true to its trade fair slogan “#beyondpumps”. With innovative product and service developments, Wilo invites visitors to Hall A6, Stand 351/450 for expert exchanges on current topics and personal meetings.

“The increase in digitalisation also plays an important role in the water management area”, explains Marcus Neppl, Water Management sales manager at Wilo. “Alongside our highly efficient products, we will also present our WiloCare service, which offers the customer total convenience in monitoring and ensures that pumps and systems are always ready for operation and use”. The service is available in Basic, Comfort and Premium variants. WiloCare functions like a 'total peace of mind' package, depending on the contract chosen.

“Borehole pump evaluated as best in class”

As low consumption values are important even during professional applications, the newly-developed Wilo-Zetos K 8 borehole pump borehole pump scores highly with regard to the product life cycle costs. “With up to 84.5% hydraulic efficiency, the Wilo-Zetos K 8 is the most efficient borehole pump in its class”, explains Wilo product manager, Philipp Maibom. Together with a highly efficient permanent magnet motor, the high hydraulic efficiency ensures its title as ‘best in class’ for overall efficiency.

System solutions for sewage treatment technology

The Dortmund-based company offers other highlights for the treatment of water and sewage, such as the highly efficient Wilo-EMU TRE 312 submersible mixer and the Wilo-EMU FA submersible sewage pump with SOLID impellers. “In order to get the right impression of the product in advance, we - a system expert for wastewater treatment technology - are offering our customers support with the design phase and configuration through to the maintenance concepts”, says Marcus Neppl. This is demonstrated through our unique “Try & Buy” service. “Products can be tested without any obligation for up to six months before buying. This gives customers an accurate picture of the quality, ease of installation, and efficiency – a decision with no investment risk”.

GVA acquisition as strategic portfolio expansion

“We see ourselves as a premium system supplier and partner in the area of water management”, explains Carsten Krumm, a member of Wilo’s Executive Board. The Dortmund-based company offers innovative all-in-one solutions for water-supply units, sewage pumping stations and wastewater treatment plants. To further expand its competence in this area, the pump manufacturer is taking over GVA (Gesellschaft für Verfahren der Abwassertechnik mbH & Co. KG) with retroactive effect from 1 January 2016. GVA, with headquarters in Wülfrath and a production site in Sangerhausen (Saxony-Anhalt), is a German company specialising in system technology and system components for biological sewage treatment. “With the GVA portfolio, we are strategically expanding the existing Wilo product range in the area of sewage treatment and can emerge as a full-line provider with solutions from one source in this area from now on", says Krumm with pride. The medium-sized company possesses comprehensive expertise in process and system technology and offers competent design and implementation consulting for all forms of biological sewage treatment. In accordance with its corporate strategy, this is another important milestone in the Wilo Group’s development from a component supplier to a full-line system supplier.
