A week of dialogue at the heart of the water agenda
Wilo has concluded an inspiring week of high-level engagement, strategic dialogue and collaboration at the 9th Cairo Water Week, held from 25 to 29 October 2026 in New Cairo under the patronage of H.E. President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi.
This year's edition ran under the theme "Water as a Catalyst for Peace, Shared Prosperity and a Sustainable Planet." It opened with a recorded message from H.E. President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of the Arab Republic of Egypt, followed by the official inauguration by H.E. Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, Prime Minister of Egypt.
With ministers, policymakers, experts and industry leaders from across the world in attendance, Cairo Water Week has firmly established itself as one of the region's most important platforms for shaping the future of water.
Ministerial visits to the Wilo booth
We had the honor of welcoming two distinguished guests to the Wilo booth: H.E. Prof. Dr. Hani Sewilam, Egypt's Minister of Water Resources and Irrigation, and H.E. Eng. Abdulrahman Al-Fadley, Saudi Arabia's Minister of Environment, Water and Agriculture. Both visits offered a valuable opportunity to present Wilo's intelligent, energy-efficient pumping solutions and to exchange views on the priorities shaping water security in Egypt, Saudi Arabia and the wider region, from irrigation and agriculture to desalination and urban water supply.
On the road to the UN Water Conference 2026 - From Cairo to Abu Dhabi
It was also a pleasure meeting H.E. Abdulla Balalaa, UAE Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs for Energy & Sustainability. Our discussion focused on the upcoming UN Water Conference 2026 in Abu Dhabi, co-hosted by the UAE and Senegal this December, and on the importance of advancing global cooperation on sustainable water management.
The timing gave the conversation added weight. Cairo Water Week 2026 served as one of the final milestones on the road to Abu Dhabi, bringing governments, institutions and the private sector together to turn shared commitments into action.
Pioneering WATER AI for You
One of this year's five conference themes, Harnessing AI and the Digital Wave for Water Resources Sustainability, speaks directly to where Wilo is heading. Through our "Pioneering WATER AI for You" strategy, we combine intelligent technologies, energy-efficient solutions and AI-driven innovation to make water infrastructure smarter and more efficient. As water scarcity intensifies across Africa and the Middle East, this is no longer optional: it is the foundation of resilient cities, secure food systems and sustainable growth.
