Dortmund. After being recognised as a high quality product and shortlisted for several awards in the past eighteen months, the Wilo-Yonos PICO was last night selected as the winner of the Green Innovation Award for 2013 at the Energy Efficiency Awards held at the Ricoh Stadium in Coventry. It was one of six shortlisted products up for the award and was talked of as a ‘stand-out winner’ by the judging panel.
The Awards are run in conjunction with the series of Renewable Roadshows taking place around the country and highlight the benefits of renewable technologies and the energy saving benefits that can accrue when renewables are incorporated in domestic and commercial projects. They were hosted by Apprentice and Countdown star Nick Hewer and featured a hilarious, if typically irreverent half hour from comedian Jimmy Carr.
“We’re delighted that the quality of the Wilo-Yonos PICO has been recognised in this way,” said Wilo UK MD Gary Mannus. As part of the Wilo portfolio of high efficiency small circulator pumps, it’s been a very successful introduction in the UK offering up to 90% energy savings over standard pumps – and around € 150,- a year savings in electricity bills for householders lucky enough to have one installed in their homes.
