Wilo inaugurates new subsidiary in Egypt

Leading pump manufacturer Wilo expands in the Middle Eastern Region by opening a new local facility in Cairo, Egypt. The new building, which has been opened on November 29th 2017, will be used by Wilo to increase the presence in the local market.

In addition to the comprehensive investments in the United Arab Emirates Wilo already announced the formation of other subsidiaries in the region in 2016. “Further expansion strengthens our competitive position in the market and enables us to better serve our distributors in this region. Cairo as economical centre of Egypt provides the perfect location as its stability is of utmost importance to the wellbeing of the whole region - especially with regard to future developments and investments within the area", says Yasser Nagi, Managing Director Wilo Egypt. “We are happy and proud of the growth in the recent years and the opportunity to expand our business furthermore."

Egypt is one of the most significant marketplaces in the Middle Eastern region. “With the opening in Cairo this year we state another clear signal regarding our commitment to permanently strengthen our development in this area", so says Thomas Kubbe, Region Manager EMEA in Wilo. “It also represents a further step in our intensified globalization strategy: the forecast to the development of the Egyptian market carries lots of positive indicators." The opening of the subsidiary in Cairo is the first step in a series that Wilo plans to implement based on the market feedback, as for example the construction of a local assembly line for a certain, market based scope of water pumps e.g. for raw water intake or waste water treatment. Within the scope of the Groups digital transformation Wilo also focuses on future products, markets and projects such as Smart Urban Areas in Egypt.
