Tata Semiconductor Assembly and Testing Project
Tata Semiconductor Assembly and Testing Project
The Tata Semiconductor Assembly and Testing Project, located in Assam, is a significant industrial initiative aimed at developing advanced semiconductor assembly and testing facilities. This state-of-the-art facility is designed to handle the assembly and testing of semiconductor devices, a critical aspect of the electronics supply chain.
The project required highly efficient and reliable pumping systems to handle diverse applications such as transferring raw river water, cooling tower waste, and process cooling water. The pumping solutions also needed to meet stringent performance requirements, ensuring efficiency and reliability across all operational stages. Wilo’s expertise in providing energy-efficient pumping systems made it the ideal choice for this high-profile project.
The pumping system at Tata Semiconductor Assembly and Testing was designed to handle a wide variety of water transfer needs, including raw water intake from the river, cooling tower waste transfer, and process cooling water. Wilo’s pumps were selected for their high efficiency, reliability, and ability to meet specific duty parameters, such as shut-off head criteria and impeller diameter specifications.
The system incorporates PISO, RN, and SCP pumps, which are designed to handle high-flow requirements while ensuring energy efficiency. The bare pump design with EBIL mechanical seals, CGL IE3 motors, and Delta make VFDs ensures smooth operation with minimal energy consumption. The use of energy-efficient pumping systems was a key requirement of the project, aligning with Tata’s sustainability goals.
