Kesurdi Plant – A Model of Sustainable Manufacturing
Wilo India’s Kesurdi plant recently earned the prestigious Paryavaran Gaurav Award (Environmental Pride Award) for its exemplary environmental practices. This recognition underscores several impactful initiatives:
Renewable Energy Transition: More than 50% of the plant’s energy is powered by photovoltaic solar systems, reducing CO₂ emissions by 1,200 tonnes annually.
Sustainable Water Management: Installation of rainwater harvesting systems and greywater treatment facilities enables reuse of treated water for industrial processes and horticulture.
Waste Reduction & Circularity: Over 98% of waste generated at the plant is recycled. Innovative adoption of metal pallets made from recycled packaging material reduced wood consumption and promoted material reuse.
Large‑Scale Afforestation Efforts: Wilo planted 1,037 trees within the Kesurdi campus and an additional 950 trees in one day at Vetal Tekdi Hill in Pune, reinforcing green cover and biodiversity.
These achievements position the Kesurdi facility as one of Wilo’s greenest operations globally.

Sustainable Procurement Day 2025 – Kesurdi
Wilo India organized a high‑impact Sustainable Procurement Day at the Kesurdi plant to strengthen supplier alignment with ESG practices. Key highlights include:
Participation of 53 attendees including 40 suppliers, demonstrating strong industry engagement.Deep‑dive sessions on ESG, sustainability ratings, and EcoVadis requirements.
Suppliers were recognised through the Creating & Connecting Awards, celebrating outstanding sustainability contributions.
Fifteen suppliers committed to enrolling for EcoVadis assessment, showing willingness to elevate sustainability maturity across the supply chain.This initiative demonstrates how Wilo India enables an ecosystem-wide approach by educating, motivating, and supporting suppliers to adopt sustainable practices.
