The 800 MLD Seawater Intake Pumphouse at Mundra is a critical component of a large-scale desalination infrastructure developed to support long-term water security for industrial and urban demand. The project is executed for Adani Power and forms an essential part of the overall desalination system supplying raw seawater to the treatment facility.

Seawater intake is one of the most demanding stages in the desalination process, requiring pumps capable of handling continuous operation, high flow rates, and corrosive marine environments. The intake pumping system plays a vital role in ensuring a stable and uninterrupted supply of seawater to downstream desalination processes, directly impacting plant efficiency and reliability. For this project, high-capacity vertical turbine pumps have been supplied for seawater intake applications. These pumps are engineered to operate under harsh coastal conditions, offering robust hydraulic performance, corrosion-resistant construction, and reliable continuous-duty operation. Variable frequency drives (VFDs) enable operational flexibility and optimized energy consumption across varying intake conditions.
