Dadar Sewage Pumping Station

Dadar Sewage Pumping Station

The Dadar Sewage Pumping Station, operated by the Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai (MCGM), is one of Mumbai's most critical wastewater infrastructure facilities. Strategically located at Dadar, the station serves densely populated catchment areas including Dadar, Mahim, and Matunga, ensuring the continuous transfer of raw sewage to downstream treatment facilities. Operating continuously since 1992, the pumping station plays a vital role in maintaining public health, supporting environmental sustainability, and strengthening Mumbai's urban sanitation network.

To meet the demanding requirements of continuous municipal wastewater transfer, Wilo supplied seven engineered Vertical Non-Clog Sewage Pumps with Extended (Cardan) Shaft design. Built for high-capacity, uninterrupted operation, these pumps have consistently delivered dependable performance for more than three decades. Their unique flood-resilient design, combined with robust hydraulic efficiency, continues to ensure reliable sewage conveyance even during Mumbai's challenging monsoon conditions.

Industry: Water Management

Application: Wastewater Management

Pump Type: Vertical Non-Clog Sewage Pumps with Extended (Cardan) Shaft

Total Pumps: 7

The Dadar Sewage Pumping Station handles millions of litres of raw sewage every day, making reliable pumping equipment essential for uninterrupted wastewater management. Wilo's engineered vertical sewage pumps are specifically designed for high-capacity municipal applications, offering excellent solids handling capability, non-clog hydraulic performance, and dependable continuous-duty operation under demanding conditions.

A key feature of the installation is the Extended (Cardan) Shaft Design, which positions the motor safely above potential flood levels while the hydraulic assembly operates within the wet well. This innovative arrangement protects critical equipment during sump overflow and monsoon flooding, significantly improving operational reliability and reducing maintenance requirements. Combined with more than three decades of proven field performance, the installation stands as a benchmark for sustainable municipal wastewater infrastructure and Wilo's long-standing engineering excellence.
