Wilo has retained EcoVadis Platinum status for a fifth consecutive year, achieving its highest ever score of 91 points.
The accolade, which places the business in the top 1% of companies assessed by the global sustainability ratings agency in the past 12 months, reflects the strength of its sustainability management system and commitment to promoting transparency throughout the value chain.
This improvement was driven by the external validation of Wilo’s non-financial indicators in line with EU sustainability reporting requirements, in addition to its membership in the Partnering Against Corruption Initiative, launched by the World Economic Forum.
The firm’s decision to expand supplier risk assessment and take several measures to manage conflict minerals also contributed to the record rating.
Lee Tebbatt, managing director at Wilo UK, said: “Sustainability can often be a vague term with varying definitions, which is why embedding transparency into every aspect of an organisation’s operations is paramount.
“To achieve this award five years in a row is no mean feat, but we must continue to look for ways to ensure we’re achieving another high score next year.”
Since launching in 2007, EcoVadis has assessed over 150,000 companies worldwide on criteria including risk and supplier management, environmental awareness, labour conditions, ethics and sustainable sourcing.
