In partnership with Fradinagua, Wilo optimizes irrigation with cutting-edge technology, driving sustainable water management in the Latin American agroindustry.
San Juan, Argentina. The olive oil industry, a key sector for Argentina's economy, has positioned the country as one of the world's leading exporters. At the heart of this industry, the province of San Juan is home to the largest olive oil production plant in Latin America. This complex has taken a significant step toward sustainability and energy efficiency with the implementation of Wilo-Actun ZETOS technology.
In a context where water access is an increasing challenge due to water scarcity and climate change, the efficient raw water intake and distribution of this resource has become a priority for the agro-food industry. The demand for advanced irrigation systems has risen significantly, requiring solutions that not only optimize water consumption but also reduce environmental impact and operational costs. In response to this challenge, Wilo’s technology provides advanced solutions that enhance both water and energy efficiency, ensuring sustainable water supply management throughout every stage of the olive production process.
Cutting-Edge Technology: Wilo-Actun ZETOS at SolFrut
Fradinagua, Wilo’s authorized distribution and service partner, led the installation of the irrigation system at the SolFrut olive oil production plant in San Juan by implementing a Wilo-Actun ZETOS K 10.310 four-stage borehole pump.
This high-tech equipment includes a high-efficiency permanent magnet motor (125 kW, 3000 rpm, 50Hz) and an EFC132 frequency inverter, achieving a flow rate of 300 m³/h at 120 meters of water column. Thanks to this innovation, the irrigation system's performance has been optimized, improving operational efficiency and reducing energy consumption, contributing to the project's sustainability.
Impact on Energy Efficiency and Sustainability
The implementation of this solution has demonstrated tangible benefits:
- Significant energy savings in irrigation and production processes, optimizing operational costs.
- Environmental sustainability, with a substantial reduction in the carbon footprint.
- Expansion of operations, with growth projections of 200 hectares per year.
"Our Wilo-Actun ZETOS technology has proven to be a highly efficient and sustainable solution for the agrifood industry. At SolFrut, we have significantly reduced energy consumption and optimized processes without compromising quality or production. This is a major step towards a more sustainable and profitable model for producers," said Marcelo Neirotti, Sales Representative and Leader of the Project at Wilo Argentina.
Meanwhile, Rodrigo Fradin, owner of Fradinagua, stated: "As specialists in water management solutions, at Fradinagua we work hand in hand with Wilo to bring innovative technologies to our clients. The implementation of the Wilo-Actun ZETOS pump at SolFrut is a clear example of how efficiency and sustainability can go hand in hand, optimizing irrigation and reducing the environmental impact in the agrifood industry."
