H2Hydrogen Expo South America 2023

Rio de Janeiro/Brazil. Wilo actively participated in this year's H2Hydrogen Expo South America, which took place in Rio de Janeiro from June 20-21, 2023. As an exhibitor in the renowned German Pavilion, Wilo proudly presented its solutions during the fair and an expert presentation, led by Paulo Cruz, Sales Engineer Industry at Wilo Brazil. The workshop, focusing on the vital role of green pumps in the green hydrogen value chain, aims to share expert knowledge and give an insight into Wilo's expertise in this critical area.

Latin America has significant potential for green hydrogen production, with Brazil having the potential to become the largest producer and export hub of green hydrogen in the world. 80% of the energetic matrix in Brazil is already renewable and Hydrogen will be the next boom.

Wilo offers numerous products and solutions in its portfolio that can be used in the first stage, i.e., generation and storage of green H2, from reverse-running pumps for driving hydropower generators and pumps for cooling circuits in wind turbines to membrane filtration technology for water treatment. As hydrogen makes its way to the end user, there are further wide-ranging possibilities for using Wilo's products, solutions, and services, including in areas such as the electrolyzer technology. The recently opened H2 Powerplant, a state-of-the-art facility at the headquarters in Dortmund, emphasizes further the company's commitment and expertise to green hydrogen generation and sustainability, allowing it to remain at the forefront of the green hydrogen revolution.

With a market potential of around 2,100 billion euros until 2050 and the potential to create around 30 million jobs worldwide, hydrogen is set to become a crucial component of the global energy transition.
